Start with how customers pay
Cards are familiar and can support quick authorisation across many markets. Bank-based payments such as ACH may suit recurring invoices or higher-value transactions where customers are comfortable authorising a bank debit or transfer.
Compare the full cost and experience
The right comparison includes provider fees, returns, dispute processes, settlement timing, customer expectations and the markets you serve. A lower headline fee does not automatically make a payment method better for every checkout.
Consider a blended approach
Some businesses offer both cards and bank payments, then make the choice clear at checkout. Before changing your payment mix, review your average order value, repeat purchase behaviour, refund patterns and the capabilities of your provider.
